How To Eat Around the World at Epcot
When you get to the Epcot World Showcase, you can get overwhelmed by the food choices. Of course, you may not be able to try everything, but you should try to have at least one thing from each country.
Some restaurants at the World Showcase require a reservation. But don’t worry; you can try plenty of quick-service restaurants and carts.
Eat snacks instead of full-portion restaurant-style meals to enjoy more food from different places!
To make things easier, I’ll cover each country in the World Showcase and discuss your options. But, more importantly, I’ll give you some delicious, must-try recommendations to save you the time of looking at the menu and scratching your head in confusion.
I’ll take a clockwise route from Mexico to Canada, but feel free to follow the other way or visit the pavillions randomly. Remember, you’re on vacation!
1. Mexico
The Mexican pavilion has several restaurants and carts, including Chaza de Margarita, La Hacienda de San Angel, and San Angel Inn Restaurante. If you want a proper Mexican meal, you can go to San Angel Inn Restaurante.
The La Cantina de San Angel has great nachos, empanadas, and churros with caramel sauce if you’re just down for some Mexican snacks.
You’re probably wondering where you can find some tacos. Chaza de Margarita may look like a place for drinks, but they also have some delicious tacos. Their best tacos are tacos al pastor with spicy corn.
2. Norway
When visiting the Norwegian pavilion, things get a little bit easier as you don’t have as many restaurant options. The Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe is pretty much the only food attraction. But wait till you enter, as you’ll see that they have endless snack varieties.
A must-try of Kringla Bakeri is the school bread, a cheap and filling snack. Another popular snack is the Troll Horn, a sweet, sugar-coated pastry with jam filling and cream topping.
They also have a salmon and egg sandwich if you’re starving. But I’d recommend trying the different snacks because they are just heavenly. But don’t fill up on these carb-rich delicacies too much, as there’s a lot more food to come!
3. China
At the Chinese pavilion, you have three choices Lotus Blossom Cafe, Nine Dragons Restaurant, and Joy of Tea. The two restaurants have similar food choices as you’d find in most Chinese restaurants in the country.
It’s best to try Joy of Tea for some delicious drinks instead of food at restaurants. Their Bubble Milk Tea and Peach Oolong Iced Tea are the favorites for many!
Mongolian Style Beef Noodlesare highly recommended if you want to try Chinese food too.
4. Germany
If you love meat, you’ll love the German pavilion. Sommerfest is highly recommended, as their bratwurst is simply the best. It’s tucked behind the main Biergarten Restaurant but serves food quickly and has many great options.
They also have a great dessert, the apple strudel with vanilla sauce.
However, for desserts, you should head to Karamell Kuche. They have epic, mouth-watering desserts, including cookies, cupcakes, and pretzels.
5. Italy
There are several options at the Italian pavilion, but the restaurants are table service only, and the food is frankly not out of the world. The main attraction here for any foodie is the Gelateria Toscano. In addition, you can get delicious gelato or sorbet in a cup or cone.
They also have cannolis and a gelato sandwich(a scoop of gelato between two cookies).
6. The American Adventure
While there are plenty of options, you can skip the American pavilion to save room for food and snacks from other pavilions. For example, it has the Funnel Cake stall that serves funnel cakes, but there are more delicious desserts in other pavilions that you should keep room for.
The Regal Eagle Smokehouse is for you if you’re a barbeque fan. They have some juicy, smoky barbequed meat and craft drinks served in an All-American style.
7. Japan
The Japanese pavilion also has several dining options. The counter service options, Kabuki Cafe and Katsura Grill, serve sushi, teriyaki, and udon noodles. These are good for trying snack-size sushi rolls or hearty ramen to taste Japanese cuisine.
You’d think sushi would be a must-have at this pavilion, but it’s Rainbow Kakigori with Sweet Milk Topping. This shaved ice dessert with sweet milk on top is refreshing, especially on a hot Florida afternoon.
There’s also a nice reservation-only restaurant Teppan Edo if you want to enjoy a proper meal.
8. Morocco
The Morocco pavilion has the Tangierine Cafe: Flavors of the Medina and Spice Road Table. Both are great options, but if you want a quick meal, head to Spice Road Table. You can try kebabs, hummus, and stone-baked bread.
Remember that some of the foods here are spicy, so if you have a low tolerance, you can ask a cast member to recommend something less spicy.
A dessert worth mentioning is the Honey Chocolate Baklava at the Tangierine Cafe!
9. France
France has many options that will surely leave you confused. However, the best thing to do is to stick with something lighter, like a pastry snack. Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie is the best place to grab a fresh snack or dessert.
Some must-try pastries include the Neopolitan, pain au chocolate, and macarons.
For something cold, head to L’Artisan des Glaces. You’ll love their ice creams as they are super creamy and rich. An alternative to pastries and ice cream is the delicious crepes at La Creperie de Paris.
10. The United Kingdom
There are two eateries here; both offer delicious fish and chips. The Rose & Crown fish and chips have a hearty serving and a seating area to sit and dine.
11. Canada
Canada pavilion has nothing super exciting as it has a table service restaurant Le Cellier Steakhouse. However, if you can get the reservation, you can try their soups and steaks, which are a little pricey.
There’s also a popcorn cart that sells Maple popcorn that is worth trying if you’re not already too full with desserts!
